One Great River has been providing wilderness adventures and outdoor experiences for over 25 years. We specialize in tailoring experiential programs to suit the needs and expectations of participant groups.
We provide wilderness experience programs for youth who are participating in on-going One Great River programs to promote health and prevent risk behaviors and for groups, from organizations with whom we collaborate.
As of June 2019, we no longer self-guide wilderness adventures and will contract with professional outfitters instead, such as Montana Alpine Guides. We have made this change to best meet emerging regulations in the outdoor industry, to reduce the cost of operating an in-house wilderness program and to continue providing high quality adventures, such as Rock Climbing, Backpacking and River Rafting, for One Great River prevention program participants.
One Great River adventures are working experiences. For example, participants help to set-up camp and self-prepare group meals. Fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean meats are used. We do not serve sugar-sweetened beverages or high salt/high fat snacks.
We offer day-long or multi-day adventures, either locally or out of state. Adventures and their costs are tailored to activity interests and the number of participants and adventure days. We prefer to work with small groups to enhance quality.
There may be an age limit on certain activities and/or restrictions from participation in activities when, in the judgment of staff, participation may place an individual or group in harm’s way.
