Prevention science has shown individual Mindfulness Meditation to be effective in reducing risk factors for substance abuse, such as anxiety, depression and isolation.
Training in Mindful Meditation, in nature settings, will give youth a life-long, healthy- living skill and will help them to recuperate from COVID related anxiety and depression.
Team One Great River
We will focus on relational wellness by Involving youth from diverse cultural backgrounds in our retreat to Build Trust, Team and a Sense of Belonging. Networking with other, culture-specific organizations will source youth participants.
Running for Life Long Health
Trail running, conducted in nature settings, accompanied with experiential education in healthy-eating, will promote life-long health among youth participants and their parents. This outdoor adventure activity is accessible, low cost and lends itself to social distancing, required by COVID guidelines.
